You will see “MCP” on some buttons, and in your assistant’s settings. It is just the technical name for this kind of connection. You do not need to know what it stands for — only where to paste your Pass.
What you are actually installing
A Connection Pass, not a password
It is a separate key you create in your own account, and it is deliberately weak in the ways that matter.
A pass, not a password
You never type your QannasAPI password into any assistant. A Pass is its own credential, created by you and thrown away whenever you like.
It can only look — never touch
Every permission a Pass can hold is a read. It can look things up, and it can never change, send or delete anything, or touch your billing. That is true by construction, not by policy.
Covers only what you allow
When you create a Pass you tick which kinds of lookups it may run. Leave a box unticked and that work simply does not exist for that assistant.
Cancelled in one click
Revoke a Pass and the very next request using it fails. There is no waiting period and nothing else is affected.
Every use of a Pass is written to a permanent record that cannot be quietly edited — which lookup ran, what it cost, how long it took. We record that a question was asked, never what was in it. We do not read your conversations; we only ever receive the specific lookup your assistant sends us.

Three steps, about five minutes
Get your Pass
You will need to be the owner or an admin of your team account — that restriction is enforced on our side, so a team member should ask their account owner to do this part.
- 1. Open your account and find the Agents pageSign in, then open the page called “SDKs & Agents”. Yes, that name sounds technical — you are in the right place, and a friendlier “Connect your assistant” screen is on the way. Find the card headed “Connect your AI agent” and press “Create MCP token”.
- 2. Name it and allow it to readName it after whichever assistant will hold it, like “Claude on my laptop”, so you know which one to cancel later. Then tick “Select all read scopes” — that just means allowed to look everything up, allowed to change nothing. You cannot create a Pass with nothing ticked.
- 3. Copy it straight awayThe Pass appears once and starts with qm_. Copy it before you close that window. If you lose it, no harm done — cancel it and make a new one; it takes about ten seconds.

Paste the whole Pass, including the qm_ at the start. The word Bearer and one space must come immediately before it.
Claude on your computer
Setup published — not yet certified by usOpen Settings, then Developer, then Edit Config. A file opens. If it is empty or shows only two curly brackets, replace everything with the block below. If it already has text in it, do not delete anything — add our entry inside the existing “mcpServers” section. Save, then fully quit and reopen the app; closing the window is not enough. You will know it worked when tools beginning with qannas_ appear under the chat box.
Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and similar

ChatGPT
ComingChatGPT connects to outside services through its own directory, using a sign-in flow we have not built yet. That work is scheduled. There is no safe workaround we would recommend in the meantime — and you do not have to wait, because jobs run perfectly well without any assistant, straight from your account.
Claude on the web
ComingThe claude.ai connector screen expects services that sign you in with a button. We are building that sign-in now. Until it lands, Claude on your computer is the same Claude and works today.
Gemini
Not availableGoogle decides which services can connect to Gemini and does not currently offer a way to add your own. If that door opens, we will be there.
Any other tool
Setup published — not yet certified by usIf your tool’s settings accept a web address plus a custom header, it will work: use the address above, the header name Authorization, and the value Bearer followed by your Pass. There is nothing to download — this is a hosted service.
We publish the steps for these because the connection method is a standard one, but we have not yet finished our own verification pass on them. If yours does not connect, email us and we will sort it out quickly.
We only describe an assistant here after we have connected to it ourselves, and we say so when we have not. One-click connection inside ChatGPT and claude.ai is being built; this page changes the day it lands.
Your first five minutes
Three things to try, in this order
They are chosen so you see the whole product — the quote, the answer, the receipt — and comfortably fit inside your free starter credits.
1. Prove it is connected — costs nothing
“Using Qannas, check my credit balance. Then get me a price quote for a verified lead list of 5 marketing managers at real-estate companies in the UAE — quote only, do not run anything yet.”
Checking your balance is free, and a quote is free. You have just watched it ask before spending. Running total: zero.
2. Your first real answer — about 6 to 8 credits
“Brief me on a company I actually know. Their profile, what software their website runs, funding history and recent posts — as a one-page brief.”
This chains six lookups. Steps that find nothing bill nothing, so the real charge is at most eight. The reply ends with a receipt.
3. The finished job — quoted first
“Now run that lead list for real: 5 marketing managers at real-estate companies in the UAE, verify the emails, and give it to me as a spreadsheet.”
At most seven credits per person, and usually much less because contacts we cannot verify cost you nothing. You approve the quote before anything runs.
That is the whole product: ask, see the price, get the result, read the receipt. Try “watch my competitor” next, or clean a small email list.
If something goes wrong
What usually goes wrong — and what to do about it
It says it cannot connect, or that I am unauthorised
Almost always a copying problem. The Pass is long — check nothing was cut off, that it still starts with qm_, and that the word Bearer plus one space sits immediately before it. If in doubt, cancel that Pass and make a fresh one. It takes two minutes and affects nothing else.
It says I have run out of credits
Good news, in a way: the connection works and the jobs ran. Nothing is lost. Top up whenever you like — packs never expire — or move to a monthly plan. Price quotes keep working even at a zero balance, because quoting is always free.
It came back empty. Did I just pay for nothing?
No. Nothing found means exactly nothing charged — check the receipt on that reply and you will see zero. That is the meter working as intended. In a multi-step job, only the steps that found something were billed. If a search finds nothing at all, try widening the location, dropping a filter, or giving the company’s website address instead of its name.
It says permission denied for that kind of lookup
That Pass was not given coverage for that work. A Pass never grows new powers on its own — that is the point. Whoever created it can make a new one that includes it.
Nothing happens at all
Check the address is exactly right, with nothing added or removed at the end. On Claude for your computer, fully quit and reopen the app after saving — closing the window is not enough. Still stuck? Email us and a human will reply within one business day.
It ran something without asking me first
Add one line to your request: “quote first and wait for my OK”. The suggested prompts on this page are written that way on purpose, and we are making that the default behaviour.
